SAFETY VALVE
A safety valve is a valve mechanism for the automatic release of a substance from a boiler, pressure vessel, or other system when the pressure or temperature exceeds the preset limits.
Recommended settings to not exceed 10% of the line operation pressure. As required by ASME all valves manufactured for Steam applications must have a handle lift lever. For Air and Gas this is optional. Industry standards are male inlet and female outlet.

DECLUTCHABLE GEAR OPERATOR
The compact DG declutchable gearbox provides efficient, precise performance for quarter-turn manual override valves. The gearbox is specially designed to offer quick and simple operation of the highest torque valves when the air or power supply fails.
The wormshaft is disengaged from the quadrant teeth during normal operation. The quadrant transmits the rotary motion of the actuator via a coupling onto the valve shaft. For manual operation, the worm is swiveled into the quadrant teeth by means of a lever and then fixed. Now the valve and the pneumatic actuator can be operated via the gearbox.
When used with single-acting actuators, it is necessary to operate against the spring load of the actuator. All gearboxes are self-locking so that any chosen position can be driven to and maintained. In order to prevent the pneumatic actuator from being actuated by pressure during the manual override operation, the actuator must be equipped with a safety locking system and/or a shut-off valve must be mounted onto the gearbox. The shut-off valve (3/2-way valve) is automatically activated as soon as the lever for clutching or declutching the worm shaft is operated. Once the lever has been operated, the pneumatic actuator is vented and simultaneously the inlet air pressure is cut off. The position is maintained until the wormshaft is declutched. Take into account the max. spring force of the actuator and the max. output torque of the valve together as a magnitude when selecting the gearbox for single-acting actuators.

CONTROL GLOBE VALVE

SAFETY VALVE
A safety valve is a valve mechanism for the automatic release of a substance from a boiler, pressure vessel, or other system when the pressure or temperature exceeds the preset limits.
Recommended settings to not exceed 10% of the line operation pressure. As required by ASME all valves manufactured for Steam applications must have a handle lift lever. For Air and Gas this is optional. Industry standards are male inlet and female outlet.

DECLUTCHABLE GEAR OPERATOR
The compact DG declutchable gearbox provides efficient, precise performance for quarter-turn manual override valves. The gearbox is specially designed to offer quick and simple operation of the highest torque valves when the air or power supply fails.
The wormshaft is disengaged from the quadrant teeth during normal operation. The quadrant transmits the rotary motion of the actuator via a coupling onto the valve shaft. For manual operation, the worm is swiveled into the quadrant teeth by means of a lever and then fixed. Now the valve and the pneumatic actuator can be operated via the gearbox.
When used with single-acting actuators, it is necessary to operate against the spring load of the actuator. All gearboxes are self-locking so that any chosen position can be driven to and maintained. In order to prevent the pneumatic actuator from being actuated by pressure during the manual override operation, the actuator must be equipped with a safety locking system and/or a shut-off valve must be mounted onto the gearbox. The shut-off valve (3/2-way valve) is automatically activated as soon as the lever for clutching or declutching the worm shaft is operated. Once the lever has been operated, the pneumatic actuator is vented and simultaneously the inlet air pressure is cut off. The position is maintained until the wormshaft is declutched. Take into account the max. spring force of the actuator and the max. output torque of the valve together as a magnitude when selecting the gearbox for single-acting actuators.

CONTROL GLOBE VALVE
Control Valves are used to control conditions such as flow, pressure, temperature and liquid level by fully or partially opening or closing in response to signals received from controllers.
The opening or closing of control valves is done by means of electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems. Positioners are used to control the opening or closing of the actuator based on Electric, or Pneumatic signals. These controls signals, traditionally based on 3-15psi, more common now are 4-20mA signals for industry, 0-10V for HVAC systems, and the introduction of "Smart" systems, HART, Fieldbus Foundation & Profibus being the more common protocols.

LIMIT-SWITCH-BOX
A limit-switch-box is mounted on the pneumatic actuator in order to operate indicating lights on the control panels; to control other equipment such as pumps, compressors and mixers; to sequence other valves, or for feedback and PLC position confirmation. Two single pole, double throw (SPDT) switches are mounted in one enclosure and are activated by individual, adjustable cams.
The cams are connected to the cam shaft, which is direct coupled to the actuator shaft. Switches can be set to be activated in fully open or closed positions, or in any position in the quadrant of the actuator's operation.

HAND LEVER, GEAR OPERATED, ACTUATOR BUTTERFLY VALVES
The "butterfly" is a metal disc mounted on a rod, connected to an actuator on the outside of the valve. Unlike the ball valve, the disc is always present within the flow, therefore a pressure drop is always induced in the flow regardless of valve postition. A butterfly valve is from a family of valves like ball valves called "quarter-turn valves". When the valve is fully open, the disc is rotated a quarter turn so that it allows an almost unrestricted passage of the fluid. The valve may also be opened incrementally to throttle flow.

To prevent heat damage from overwork or excessive current draw, electric actuator motors are usually equipped with a thermal overload sensor embedded in the motor windings. This sensor is wired in series with the power source and opens the circuit if the motor overheats. The circuit closes again when the motor reaches a safe operating temperature.
An electric motor consists of an armature, an electrical winding, and a gear train. When power is supplied to the winding, a magnetic field is generated causing the armature to rotate. The armature will rotate as long as there is power to the windings. When the power is cut, the motor stops. Standard end-of-travel limit switches, which are a necessity for an electric actuator, handle this task.
